Wake Up to What Matters Most
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

Have you ever wondered why so many people say they want to follow Jesus, yet never actually pursue Him? They raise a hand, pray a prayer, or have an emotional moment—but their life doesn’t reflect the decision they claimed to make. There’s no hunger for Scripture, no desire to grow, no sign of spiritual fruit.
Why?
For many, the answer is simple: Jesus isn’t a priority. Some people are held back by doubt, unsure if God really sees them. Others are stuck in comfort, loving where they are more than who God is calling them to become. Some avoid Jesus because of social pressure, afraid of not fitting in or looking “too spiritual.” And for many, the biggest obstacle is distraction, a thousand little things more exciting than opening the Bible.
But God’s Word is clear: lukewarm faith isn’t faith at all. You can’t halfway follow Jesus. He calls us to choose life in Him, or life in the world. You can’t force someone to grow. You can’t drag them into devotion. Only God can awaken a heart. But you can speak the truth in love.
Here’s the reality:
If Jesus isn’t your priority, everything else will always come first. Sports. Friends. Entertainment. Comfort. And while those things may be fun for a moment, they don’t bring life. They don’t bring purpose. They don’t bring hope.
But Jesus does.
When you finally taste the presence of God… when you finally experience His peace… when His Word becomes alive to you… everything changes. That’s when you wake up spiritually—and realize He was what you needed all along.

What is the number one thing distracting you from fully following Jesus?
Do your daily habits reflect someone who knows about Jesus—or someone who genuinely wants to walk with Him?
If God asked you to choose today—hot or cold—what direction would you honestly lean?
Prayer
Lord, wake me up. Shake me out of comfort, distraction, and lukewarm living. Give me a heart that seeks You above everything else. Make my desire for You stronger than my desire for anything in this world. Set me on fire for You today. Amen.

Prioritize Jesus today. Read one chapter of Scripture. Join a Bible study. Pray intentionally.
Take one real step—no excuses.
Jesus is worth your whole heart. Not halfway. Not when your schedule allows.
