Our Story

Quarterbacks for Christ wasn’t born out of a strategic plan or a clever idea, it began as a vision God placed on our founder, Evan Orth’s heart during a prayer session in early 2021. With no blueprint and no clear picture of what it would become, Evan simply chose to take a step of obedience.

That single step turned into a monthly gathering of quarterbacks from across the city. We met to hang out, play games, share meals, and dive into Scripture together, forming a genuine brotherhood built on Christ. What started small quickly grew into something far greater than we imagined.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed dozens of salvations, baptisms, and life changing moments. What began as a local meetup has expanded into a national movement of quarterbacks who are hungry to know Jesus and use their platform to glorify Him.

Today, Quarterbacks for Christ hosts weekly virtual Bible studies, monthly in person gatherings at each location, and multiple retreats every year, bringing quarterbacks from all over the country together to grow in their faith, leadership, and purpose.

We believe this is only the beginning. As God continues to open doors, we’re expectant for even more lives to be transformed, more leaders to rise up, and more quarterbacks to boldly live out their faith. The story of Quarterbacks for Christ is still being written, and we’re honored to play a small part in what God is doing.

Core Values

Take Charge & Preach the Word

We take this charge seriously. As leaders, athletes, and followers of Jesus, we step forward with ownership and boldness to preach the Word of God no matter the season or circumstance.

To take charge means moving forward with determination, responsibility, and decisive confidence. Just as a soldier advances into battle with courage, we advance in the direction God is leading, ready to speak His truth and live it out.

This core value is rooted in 2 Timothy 4:1–2, where Paul gives Timothy a clear and urgent commission:

“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season.”

We are willing and available to meet our athletes right where they are, no matter how messy the situation. We create space for them to open up, be honest, and share what they’re going through. With a listening ear, genuine compassion, and we use the wisdom that comes from the truth of God’s Word to help them navigate the hard things they face.

When we step into their messy places instead of avoiding them, we often see God turn messy into mission. Simply by being present, patient, and grounded in Scripture, we watch athletes grow, heal, and move forward with purpose.

This core value is rooted in Romans 15:1-2, where Paul encourages us to follow the example of Christ:

“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.”

Step Into the Mess

Make Disciples

We are committed to teaching quarterbacks what it truly means to follow Jesus in every area of life and to equipping them to lead others to do the same. Discipleship isn’t just about information; it’s about imitation, transformation, and multiplication.

To make disciples means helping others know Jesus, obey His Word, and grow into the kind of leaders who can then guide someone else on that same path. As we follow Him, we intentionally invest in others so the impact continues far beyond ourselves.

This core value is rooted in Matthew 28:19–20, where Jesus gives His Great Commission:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

We believe leadership is a gift from God and a platform to point others to Jesus. As leaders, we use the talents God has given us to honor Him, not ourselves. We lead by example, live with humility, and use every opportunity to show that life is ultimately about the One who created us. Our influence exists so the gospel can be seen, heard, and lived out through us.

We are consumed with Gods love and faithfulness towards us that we have no response but to praise Him for all good things He gives us.

This core value is rooted in Matthew 5:16, where Jesus instructs us that our good works are for Jesus to get glorified:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
